The Friends of the Rotorua District Library was formed in 1990.
 
Aims are to:
 
To promote and support the Rotorua District Library, especially childrens and teens programmes
To help acquire resources and  facilities that will enhance the library
To encourage use of the library
To publicise the library and its features
 
 
How do the Friends achieve these aims?
 
Fundraising, the focus of which is book sales at Kuirau Park on the first and third Saturdays of each month, 9am - 1pm
Organising special events with guest speakers
Seeking additional funding from funding authorities
 
 
How do you become a member of the Friends?
 
Fill in a membership form (available from the Library Customer Service Desk) and the Friends will post out the newsletters and invitations to events.
 
Subscriptions may be sent to The Friends of the Library, c/- Rotorua District Library, Private Bag 3029, Rotorua, or left at the Library Office.
 
Membership is annual from January 1st each year $10 per person

Committee meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month at 4.30 p.m. in the Library.

Donations of books and magazines are always welcome and can be left at the library or Kuirau Park kiosk on sales days.
