Described as an an inspiring and passionate speaker on children's literature, Kate De Goldi has recently been awarded the Creative NZ Michael King Writer's Fellowship.  She writes for children and young adults, presents book reviews on the radio, is a short-story writer and journalist.  Her awards include the American Express and Katherine Mansfield Memorial Awards as well as the NZ Post Book of the Year Award in 2005 and 2009.
