Toi Tangata - Art of the People

Toi Tangata is a display space especially for local, amateur artists to exhibit their art for three weeks.  The art can take any form from paintings to sculpture and any medium.  There is no charge to the artist.  Toi Tangata offers artists the opportunity to showcase their work to approximately 7,000 people (average weekly visitor count) per week.  Artsist may work in the space during their allocated exhibition time if they wish.  From the opening in July 2009, a flood of bookings means there are no vacancies until June 2010 but artists are encouraged to get in now.
