Internet and email access are available upstairs in the Don Stafford Room.
Cost is $2.00 per 1/2 hour and printing is 20 cents a page. We use a card system so you do not have to use the whole half hour at once.
Scan to email is a new service whereby you can send anything you can scan to your own email address.
Prices for this service are as follows:
1 transaction $1.00
3 hours use $2.00
Full Day use $5.00
PCs with Word (word processing) and Excel (spreadsheets) are available for public use upstairs in the Don Stafford Room.
Cost is $2.00 per 1/2 hour.
Printing is 20c per page or 10c if you bring your own paper.
Floppy disks are available at $1.00 each.
It is possible to book the Internet and word processing in advance but this is not always necessary. Phone 3484177.
We are able to obtain items from other New Zealand Libraries.
Types of items available are:
- Books
- Magazine articles
- Music scores
- Videos and sound recordings are sometimes available
- Subject requests when specific titles are not known
- Microfilm of Newspapers and Manuscripts from Alexander Turnbull Library
- Theses and Research papers published by Universities. (Lent to us on the basis that they are reference only)
Types of items not available on Interloan:
- Recent / New books
- Books or items that are Reference only at the owning Library
- Student course materials
- Whole issues of magazines
Interloan Costs are:
- $10.00 per book, video, etc
- $5.00 per article request
- Customers are liable for the Interloan fee whether or not the item is collected
Normal borrowing conditions apply to Interloans, unless the lending library applies special conditions.
Interloan renewals must be done at the Help Desk in the Library. Please DO NOT renew interloaned items on the website.

The Housebound Service provides library materials to users:
- Who are unable to visit either the main library or the Mobile Library, either on a permanent or a temporary basis, because of illness or infirmity;
- And who have no other person readily available to come to the library to select their materials.

Let us navigate the www, our databases and libraries nationwide
to source the information you require. Books from other NZ libraries
will incur a subsidized interloan fee for Postage and Handling
and will be collectable from the Library only.
Plus we can deliver most information either by return email or via courier.
We will endeavour to supply the answers within 48 hours, Monday to Friday.
Items sent to this email address on the weekend will be dealt with on
Monday where possible, except for Public Holidays.
The options and costs are as follows:
Articles or pages from reference material may be scanned in
PDF or TIF or JPEG format and emailed to you: Cost $2 per article.
The size of file emailed will depend on what the recipient can receive.
Please specify preferred format when requesting.
Courier parcel (books or photocopied articles) up to 3kg: $15.00
