Matariki Star Search 2017

​​​​​Ngā Pūmanawa e Waru and Rotorua Library bring you Matariki Star Search 2017!

Matariki Star Search 2017 is a chance for Rotorua youth to showcase their talent, get noticed, perform on the big stage and win.

This year's event is shaping up to be outstanding with 50 individuals, duos and groups aged from 8-18 years entering across the three categories.

Finalists going through to the Matariki Star Search 2017 Finale will be announced on 30 June 2017.


Following the huge success of last year’s event, Ngā Pūmanawa e Waru and Rotorua Library bring you the Matariki Star Search 2017 Finale. The evening will include a range of performances in this fantastic showcase of Rotorua youth.

When: 6pm, Wednesday 19 July 2017

Where: Sir Howard Morrison Performing Arts Centre, 1170 Fenton St, Rotorua

Tickets: Entry is FREE but as seats are limited tickets are required. Tickets are now available from Rotorua Library and Ngā Pūmanawa e Waru. Just ask for your tickets at the reception desk.

Be a part of Matariki Star Search 2017 by coming along on the night! Support your whanau and friends and be amazed by the spectacular talent on show.

Categories this year are Singing, Dance and Ngā mahi ā Rēhia o te Ao (Global performing arts). Epic prizes are up for grabs in each of the three categories with $1000 worth of Noel Leemings vouchers for the winner and $500 vouchers for the runner-up in each category and $250 vouchers for the People's Choice Award.
