New Zealand History
While books about New Zealand topics can be found all through the Library, the 2nd floor has New Zealand history and travel books and a number of other collections of New Zealand non fiction.
New Zealand Stack is a lending collection of older NZ adult non fiction books that look tired but are still of interest. (Please check the date of publication as they may be out of date.)
Back copies of a selection of New Zealand magazines which are indexed on Find NZ Articles or Index New Zealand. These can only be read in the library.
New Zealand Statistics is a collection of printed reports. Increasingly statistics are being published only online so also look at Statistics New Zealand and Statisphere websites.
Our Map collection focuses on Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty including lake, geological, geophysical. It also includes Park maps for the whole country, the 1:50,000 topographic maps for the central North Island and Topo250 series.
