Exhibition Spaces

The library has two spaces available for exhibition of artworks or the celebration of community projects, Toi Tangata, the Art Space and what is affectionately known as the Orange Space.

Our spaces offer the opportunity to showcase artwork to approximately 7,000 people (average weekly visitor count) per week. Images of your exhibition may also be shown in print and online library publications including our social media channels.

Toi Tangata - Art Space

Toi Tangata is a display space especially for local, amateur artists to exhibit their art for three weeks. Art can take any form and there is no charge to the artist.

Artists need to arrange for the hanging and display of their own work. Artists may work in the library during their allocated exhibition time if they wish.

Orange Space

Our Orange Space has a fabulous curved, orange wall as its backdrop. The space is heavily used as a seating space for people spending time in the library.

Artwork and examples of community projects are displayed in this area. It is best suited to images on paper or card but other works may be able to be displayed if appropriate.
