Friends of the Library
Rotorua Library is very fortunate to have had the unwavering support of an active Friends of the Library group, hard-working volunteers whose aims are:
- To promote and support the library
- To facilitate its use and enjoyment by the public
- To help to acquire additional resources and services for the library
- To lobby on behalf of the library
- To encourage involvement of the community in the activities, needs and progress of the library
Find a bargain
The Friends of the Library sell second-hand, donated and ex-library books at regular Saturday morning sales at Kuirau Park. You'll be surprised to find a vast range of reading material from children's board books, magazines, fiction and non-fiction. There's some real treasures to be found too.

Join the Friends of the Library
Anyone can join the Friends of the Library and they are always happy to have new members. There is NO CHARGE to be a member. You can also receive the quarterly Friends of the Library newsletter. Email your details to Patricia at kersey@kinect.co.nz
The Friends of the Library are also looking for able-bodied volunteers to help with picking up and delivering donated books and setting up the book sales. Please contact Patricia at Ph 345 6794.
