It's February

It's February and that's when most people are getting back into work and school routines.

Our regular children's prorammes are all up and running and we have some new staff helping us too.   Look up the dates and times here for our under 5 programmes and if you are involved with a pre-school organisation, let them know about He Pī Ka Rere - On the Road, an outreach service where we bring a programme of storytelling, song, dance and an activity to your centre.  Read more HERE

For those going back to school, remember the Library has free WiFi and free computer use to help you with your education.  We also have lots of study areas to suit your needs.  Just ask us if you need somewhere quiet to work.  Your household could also be eligible for SparkJump if you have students under 18 and no internet access.  Read more HERE.

A programme to learn te reo Māori is up and running every Monday at 12 midday in the Community Room on the ground floor.  He Timatanga is for beginners and everyone is welcome.  Come on in if you want to learn more.

Our SteppingUp programme is for those just starting out on computers.  If you want to learn the basics, then this course is for you.  Read more HERE or ask any of our staff how to book in.

And the fish are back!  That's right, we have a school of fish in the library - all the entrants in the Fish out of Water competition.  They are amazing!  Our cover pic shows one of our staff Tammy who along with Summer Botes prepared this entry "Dreaming in the garden" for the competition.  See if you can find all 13 fish that are scattered through the library until 20 February.

We have loads of events and activities coming up in the next few months including the Te Aka Mauri Festival  and we'll keep you posted with information as events get finalised.

In the meantime, gather up some great reads and we'll see you in the library!
