Rotorua Library buzzing with activity

There's a hive of activity at Rotorua Library at the moment with Matariki celebrations and school holiday programmes underway.

While the Matariki Maumahara event on Friday 13 July has unfortunately had to be cancelled, there are other events for people to enjoy:

Wednesday 11 July at 9am, Matariki Māngai: Living Books session with special guest Tamati Coffey: This session will see Waiariki MP and award-winning presenter, Tamati Coffey opening up about chapters of his life based on audience questions. Bookings are essential for the Matariki Māngai: Living Books session. Individual and groups can book online or visit our Matariki Māngai page for further information.

Thursday 12 July from 5-8pm, Black Out Poetry: As part of the Colour the Night festivities bringing the CBD alive with music, art, performances and light for Matariki, families are invited to come and spend some time at Rotorua Library creating a visually dynamic poem together using pages from old books. This free event is open to all ages and all are welcome.

Friday 13 July, Matariki Mystery Art Bag: Tamariki can create a fun Matariki craft using a bag of mystery art materials in one of two sessions. The 10.30am session is open to all ages with an easier craft for little hands and the 1.30pm session is for ages 5 and up. Booking is not required for the Matariki Mystery Art Bag Activity. Gold coin koha is appreciated.
