Computers and Wi-Fi

Computers

The computer suite is located on the first floor of the library. 18 computers and 2 Chromebooks are available for customer use. These are Google Chromebox stations and can access the Internet but do not come with software programmes such as Microsoft Word (ask staff about how to use Google Docs instead).

Use of the computers is on a first come, first served basis using a computerised booking system. Computers cannot be reserved ahead of time or from home.

Session times are limited to 30 minutes. Computers shutdown 20 minutes before library closing time.

Rotorua Library provides free computing and Internet access via the Aotearoa People’s Network Kaharoa (APNK).

Terms of Use

When you are using library computers you should not:
• attempt to violate our computer system security
• do anything illegal, infringe copyright or view offensive material
• disturb other people’s use of the library

Aotearoa Peoples Network Kaharoa reserves the right to prevent access to objectionable material. Customers breaching these policies may be banned from using library computers.

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available for use in the library.

Connect to Rotorua Public Wi-Fi, then agree to the terms and conditions. There is no password required.
