Dementia is a progressive condition currently affecting almost 70,000 New Zealanders. By 2050, almost 170,000 Kiwis are likely to be living with dementia. Māori, Pasifika and Asian populations are at an increased risk of a dementia diagnosis, which means it is important for libraries and community hubs to be safe and welcoming.

Rotorua Library has launched a brand new collection of items that adults can borrow and try out at home. Memory Matters/He Taonga Te Pūmahara comprises jigsaw puzzles, fidget toys, memory games and other objects that adults.
