Come and have fun at your library with a School Holiday Programme packed full of exciting activities and the chance to win a cool reading pack in The Great Te Aka Mauri Scavenger Hunt!

The Lego Landmarks sessions are now all fully booked. Booking is not required for our other activities. Children must be supervised at all activities and gold coin koha would be appreciated.

As well as all the fun, exciting activities in the programme below, give The Great Te Aka Mauri Scavenger Hunt a go anytime during the holidays. Grab your clue sheet from near the front door at the library and get your entry in by 4pm on Sunday 22 July.

Keeping Safe Around Dogs

Date: Tuesday 17 July

Geoff from the SPCA and Max the border collie will be back in the library to teach us how to be safe around dogs.  

Minecraft Selfies

Date: Wednesday 18 July

Time: 10.30-11.30am

Ages: 5+

Create an image of yourself in the style of a Minecraft character. 


DIY Beeswax Wrap Workshop​

Say goodbye to plastic wrap and make your own reusable beeswax wraps. 

Date: Wednesday 18 July, 9.30-11am

These fun crafts are not only great for making in the inside of the fridge look better but they make your lunchtime habits a whole lot more sustainable.

Come along, give it a go and take home your very own beeswax wrap.

DIY Reusable Shopping Bag Workshop​

Sick of heading home from the supermarket with handfuls of plastic bags? Got a cupboard full of random pillow cases with no matching sheets? Want to do your bit for the environment?

Make a visually dynamic poem as a family. Choose a page from an old book and use a black marker to turn the original text into a new poem. #blackoutpoetry
