Matariki Tauira: setting the example

Join us at Te Aka Mauri for Matariki Tauira – Setting the Example on 13 July, at 5:30-7:00, an evening of shared learning, reflection and celebration.

This special event will explore the meaning of Matariki across cultures, featuring two guest speakers. Rukingi Haupapa will share the significance of Matariki in te ao Māori, and Hiroe Howell will present insights into Matariki (Subaru) within Japanese culture.

Following their individual presentations, both speakers will sit down for a shared kōrero, reflecting on their perspectives and engaging in discussion. This will include an opportunity for audience questions to deepen their understanding.

The evening will conclude with whakawhanaungatanga where attendees are encouraged to stay, connect and celebrate together over a cup of tea.

Everyone is warmly welcome at this free event.
