Rotorua Library provides free computing and internet access via the Aotearoa People’s Network Kaharoa (APNK). You can access the computers using your Library card and PIN or by a Guest Pass available from library staff.

Our internet computers are located on the First Floor of the library. We have twelve computers, and two Chromebooks available. Another two Computers for customer use are available in our Heritage and Research department on the Second Floor.

These computers are Google Chrome-based. They come loaded with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and other applications from the G Suite. We also provide access to Microsoft's online productivity suite, which can be used by anyone with a free Microsoft account. The computers do not come with software programmes such as Microsoft Word.

You can create and edit documents on the library's computers using Google Docs or Microsoft Office Online. You will need a free Google or Microsoft account to access these services.

Use of the computers is on a first-come, first-served basis. Computers cannot be reserved ahead of time or from home. Initial time allowance for using a computer is 30 minutes for both library card holders and guest pass users. Time extensions are available except during busy periods. See staff for details.
