We no longer subscribe to PressReader
For a number of years, we have provided access to online books, magazines and newspapers on four platforms:
- audio books and books on BorrowBox and ePlatform
- online magazines on Libby and PressReader
- online newspapers on BorrowBox and PressReader
Recently, BorrowBox and Libby have increased the number of magazines and newspapers they provide, alongside the thousands of eBooks and eAudiobooks they already provided.
This has allowed us to review the subscriptions we are paying and ensure we’re providing access to what our customers enjoy the most and giving us best the best value for money. The result of that review is that we decided to cancel our PressReader subscription and invest in the other platforms that are allow us to bring you the most popular content and are easiest to use.
A small number of customers were using PressReader to access magazines and newspapers online but mostly reading a small number of titles that are also available on BorrowBox ePress or Libby.
